Russian Railways, Cuba sign 92 mln euro additional infrastructure deal
MOSCOW, Oct 29 (PRIME) -- Russian Railways and Cuba have signed a 92 million euro 3-year additional deal to the contract for restoration and upgrade of the country’s railway infrastructure, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
The deal encompasses development of a general plan for development of the Cuban railways, designing of a unified dispatching center for management of railway traffic, designing of a depot for technical maintenance and repairs of trach machines, and training of 600 Cuban employees under higher and advanced education programs, the company said.
The company and Cuba signed a 1.88 billion euro contract for restoration of the Cuban railway infrastructure in early October. The contract sees designing, repairs, and upgrades of more than 1,000 kilometers of railway infrastructure.
